CIVIC ENGAGEMENT BOOTCAMP

The Civic Engagement Bootcamp (CEB) is a high-impact training program developed by RISE United to equip professionals and grassroots community leaders with the tools to lead effectively on nonprofit and charter school boards. Launched with support from the Indianapolis African American Quality of Life Initiative (IAAQLI) and the Indianapolis Urban League, this initiative is designed to deepen civic engagement and expand Black leadership in education decision-making.

CEB is a half-day intensive bootcamp focused on the foundations of effective board governance, including:

• Accountability & Oversight
• Community Engagement
• Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
• Leadership & Influence
• Financial Stewardship
• Strategic Decision-Making
   

The program actively recruits talented Black professionals, community organizers, and education a advocates who are committed to advancing educational equity in Indianapolis.

• CEB graduates are supported in securing placements to serve on youth nonprofit boards. 
• CEB graduates join a growing network of leaders driving change both within schools and across the community.
